The 26Th Annual Home Care Association of Florida (HCAF) 2015 Annual Conference & Trade Show (July 28-30) is just around the corner, and I am excited to once again be representing PlayMaker CRM as an exhibitor. We have been a part of this conference for many years, and I’m always impressed with how the HCAF stays at the forefront of trends impacting our industry, which in turn allows them to provide valuable information to members and attendees. While all the sessions look great this year, I want to highlight a few key programs and events for you to consider to get the most out of your time in Orlando.
1. If sales growth is on your mind, be sure to attend one or all of the sessions by Steve “The Hurricane” Weiss. He’s a dynamic, high-energy speaker with great insight on sales strategies in our industry. In his “The Art of Closing” session, he will reveal ways to make sure you are always working towards successfully closing deals. The “Managing Marketing Reps” session will help you be more efficient in both the search and selection process by arming you with everything you need to recruit, hire and compensate your marketing representatives. And finally, the “Your Mission Possible” session will look at real-life situations that clinicians face every day and consider ways we can help to make things better, one patient interaction at a time.
2. ICD-10 legislation continues to impact our industry. Sharon Litwin is presenting the session, “A New Day is Dawning,” where she will discuss key elements of this monumental transition in a simple, easy to follow format. Topics include computer systems, referral information, agency process flow, the good and bad of outsourcing your coding and training specifics.
3. As the Perspective Payment System (PPS) legislation is top of mind, John Reisinger (Innovative Financial Solutions for Home Health) will help attendees break down the Value-Based-Purchasing pilot. His 12:00 p.m. pre-conference session, “The HH PPS Proposed Rule for 2016: Good for Medicare? – Let’s make it better for you!” will help address the implications raised by the rule and help agencies understand and prepare for those proposed changes. With as many as 10 sessions dedicated to the evolving nature of the PPS system and the impact this could have on Florida, it’s imperative to gather as much information as possible.
4. Lastly, I encourage you to come to the Happy Hour? Wine Not event on Wednesday, July 29th from 5:00-6:00 p.m. in the Northern Hemisphere Foyer. Make some new connections, catch up with old friends and discuss what we’ve learned at the conference.
And don’t forget… be sure to stop by and check out what’s new with PlayMaker CRM – I’ll be at Booth #604.
See you at the conference!
